Photograph of a Gray Catbird who briefly came into the open at Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge near Titusville Florida.
Gray Catbird (Dumetella carolinensis): Small, shy, dark gray mockingbird with black cap. This elusive bird forages on ground, shrubs and branches. Feeds mostly on insects and their larvae, spiders, berries and fruits. Their calls include the catlike meow call that gives them their name.
