Description
Photographic artwork of Cuba by Dawn Currie. In Havana near the capitol building is a city parks teeming with activity. Each Sunday teachers from varied backgrounds hold art classes under the shade trees in the center of the boulevard. Here the arts and handcrafts have continued to thrive as they are passed along from one generation to the next. Along the street, drawing, painting, paper mache and bobbin lace classes are underway with the occasional pause by the artists to sell their works to tourists looking to take home a special memory. It is possible to walk and work under the tree canopy and forget for a time the more somber surroundings just out of sight.
