The people and colors of Cuba have left a permanent mark on the photographer's heart and mind. As time and distance pass the images become impressions, like watercolor paintings in the mind's eye. These are but a few of the colorful images that compose the Cuban tapestry from rural areas to the cities.

Bicycles are the main form of transportation in Camaguey, a tour guide's nightmare and the picturesque capital of Camaguey Province. The labyrinth of narrow streets is best navigated with someone who knows them. Since the city is becoming more of a tourist destination, some signs of exterior renovation are seen. The primary emphasis is on two main squares whose picture-perfect facades stand in stark contrast to the surrounding streets.

Many of the buildings surrounding the main squares have portals into quiet courtyards that capture the cool breezes and block the harsh sun. Tucked into one of the buildings is an artist studio filled with art deco pieces made from objects found by the husband and primitive art made by his wife.
