Description
Photographic artwork of Cuba by Dawn Currie. Granma Island, named after the boat which brought Fidel Castro and his band of revolutionaries back to Cuba. Not the usual tourist destination, it can be accessed by ferry across the bay to the sole restaurant on the island. If one adventures beyond the restaurant, the true living conditions and spirit of this place unfold. The residents are gracious and warm; they welcome visitors into their humble homes. They are proud of what they have, taking every care to keep things spotless and in working order. This is especially true of their boats which are the only form of transportation and connection with the mainland.
