Caspian Tern (Hydroprogne caspia): As large as a big gull, the Caspian Tern is the largest tern in the world. Its large coral red bill makes it one of the most easily identified terns throughout its worldwide range. They also have a full black crown.
Royal Tern (Halasseus maximus): A large, orange-billed tern, the Royal Tern is found only along ocean beaches. Royal Terns are more slender-bodied and elongated than Caspian Tern. They have a shaggy crest with a pale forehead and crown. and a thinner, paler yellow-orange bill.
