Special Edition Art Collection inspired by John James Audubon and others that have depicted the beauty of birds through drawings and illustrations. I have been working on developing a process to transform my photographs into drawings for over a decade. The result is reminiscent of pen and ink drawings and stippling techniques. These detailed images highlight the timeless beauty of these birds.
The Red-tailed Hawk (Buteo jamaicensis) is probably the most common hawk in North America, usually seen soaring above open fields, slowly turning circles on their broad, rounded wings. The other typical location is on telephone poles, eyes fixed on the ground to catch the movements of small prey or simply waiting out cold weather.
